Greg Delaney,
Jason Sobel is a Messianic rabbi who collaborated with Kathy Lee Gifford on her NY Times best-selling book, "The Rock, The Road, and The Rabbi"。 He is also a spiritual consultant with the crowd-funded show "The Chosen", helping to provide clarity and historical accuracy from a Jewish perspective。 Sobel's ministry involves, among many other things, helping both Jews and Gentiles to better appreciate the unity and continuity of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible in identifying Jesus of Nazare Jason Sobel is a Messianic rabbi who collaborated with Kathy Lee Gifford on her NY Times best-selling book, "The Rock, The Road, and The Rabbi"。 He is also a spiritual consultant with the crowd-funded show "The Chosen", helping to provide clarity and historical accuracy from a Jewish perspective。 Sobel's ministry involves, among many other things, helping both Jews and Gentiles to better appreciate the unity and continuity of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible in identifying Jesus of Nazareth as the Messiah。 This book serves to take the reader on a journey of understanding how the Bible not only tells the story of Jesus but foreshadows Him throughout from the very first sentence in the Old Testament to the very last sentence of the New Testament。 One of Sobel's strongest suits is to offer up insights and understanding of Scripture from the Jewish perspective and to connect them to Jesus, not only as an historical figure, but as the Son of God。 I found the author's offerings in this effort to be profound and enlightening。 Christians, as a group, often tend to rely on the New Testament writings to support and enhance their faith。 Rabbi Sobel's work provides a compelling argument for much greater study and understanding of the Old Testament and how, a better understanding of "Jewish thought" (a phrase Sobel often uses) will strengthen and deepen existing faith。 He also provides a documented case of examples and evidence from the Old Testament that could give many of the Jewish faith to better understand how "believing in Jesus as Messiah is the most Jewish thing one can do"。 I have learned from this book and elsewhere what a touchy and controversial subject this is among practitioners of Judaism this idea is, of course, but Rabbi Sobel brings forth some compelling evidence notwithstanding。 As a Christian, I believe this book is a welcome scholarly addition of material from Jewish faith and the Old Testament that will strengthen and deepen the faith of believers and perhaps even be what could tip the scales in favor of belief for those who are on the fence。 。。。more
Wayne Hastings,
Rabbi Jason takes on a journey from Adam to David。 Along the way he unveils remarkable connections between the Old and New Testaments。 As Rabbi likes to say, “But there’s more!” Each chapter not only shows these remarkable connections but also reveals how Jesus Messiah connects not only to the people but to all of Scripture。 I highly recommend this book。
Beth SHULAM,
Messianic Jew trying to view the messiah through the lens of numerology。 I would have been happier with a purely scripture based christology of the messiah。 Kind of misleading to call himself a Rabbi, as he was ordained by the UMJC。 DNF after introduction。

David,
This book purports to show the concept of the Messiah from the Jewish perspective。 Many of the revelations disclosed in the book relate to numerology which I find unconvincing。 To the extent that the author relates Old Testament stories and characters to the Christ, the book has some benefit。 I give it 2。5 stars, but round up to 3 stars based on some of the chapters。 The author identifies Jonathan Cahn as a mentor。 Cahn wrote the introduction。 If you like Cahn’s book, The Harbinger, you will lik This book purports to show the concept of the Messiah from the Jewish perspective。 Many of the revelations disclosed in the book relate to numerology which I find unconvincing。 To the extent that the author relates Old Testament stories and characters to the Christ, the book has some benefit。 I give it 2。5 stars, but round up to 3 stars based on some of the chapters。 The author identifies Jonathan Cahn as a mentor。 Cahn wrote the introduction。 If you like Cahn’s book, The Harbinger, you will like this book。 I found them both to be sophistical and had to force myself to finish them。 Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more
Andrienne,
Those who appreciate connecting the dots to see the whole picture will enjoy this book。 I would probably recommend this book to fans of the bible as it relates a lot of information to seasoned readers, but it can also appeal to those who want to know more about Christianity。 Thank you so much to the publisher for the advance access。
